JOSIE'S POEMS
Poems for Younger Children
By Josie Whitehead
AND THEN OUT CAME THE SUN
By Josie Whitehead
The cow in the field looked up at the sky.
She saw the black clouds and she sent up a sigh.
She shivered a shiver, then started to moo
And looked at the grass and decided to chew.

Then out came the sun and it lit up the sky.
The cow felt its warmth when the wind said goodbye.
It smiled on the fields, brought warmth to the hills
And then it shone down on the gold daffodils.

The birds in the tree-tops soon started to sing
For the sun sent its warmth on this first day of spring.
The cold wind of winter just went on its way
When out came the sun on this beautiful day.
