HELLO  NIGHT

By Josie Whitehead

Hello Night

Unfasten the night, discharge the sun.
Release bright stars - just one by one.
Extinguish the light; unbridle the breeze
And wake sleeping owls high up in the trees.

Hush the day’s noise, and switch on the moon.
The mice and the bats will arrive very soon.
Night creatures appear with silence and stealth,

Whilst we people seek sleep for the good of our health.
