AS EASY AS PIE SIMILES

 By Josie Whitehead

As Easy as Pie Similes

As fast as a cheetah chasing its prey
As warm as the sunshine that brightens the day.
As free as a bird that flies through the sky
Yes, writing a simile’s as easy as pie.

Now you:  As fast as ………………

As loud as my dog when the postman’s around.
As soft as the snow that falls on the ground.
As cross as my teacher when I won’t sit still
And as loud as the sound of my father’s drill.

Now you:  As soft as ……................

As sweet as the chocolate that melts on the tongue.
As nice as the poems I write for the young.
As blue as the sky and as white as the snow –
Now YOU write five similes for I have to go!

Come on then:

As big as ……………………………………………

As small as ………………………………………...

As blue as …………………………………………..

As light as …………………………………………..

As slow as  ………………………………………….
