BE MORE FRIENDLY -
WAG YOUR TAIL!

By Josie Whitehead

Be More Friendly - Wag Your Tail

Should we humans be more friendly?

Would a tail just do the job?

Would a small wet nose and happy bark

     Make others’ hearts just throb?

Should we prance around in pleasure,

Asking friends to play and run,

And would pointed ears and four small paws,

Mean life would be more fun?

Would you like to practise barking,

      And leg-cocking?  Well, yes,

But don’t jump on that furniture

And please don’t make a mess!

Well, we cannot wag our tails, of course.

We were not born that way,

But, as humans, just a kindly smile,

      Could make somebody’s day!

Have a group discussion:  What things does your pet or perhaps a pet you know, do?  Do we understand animal behaviour even though they don't talk?  Yes we do.  How?
