DINGLY DANGLY SPIDER

By Josie Whitehead

Dingly Dangly Spider

There’s a dingly dangly spider

Who said his name was Fred.

He can run along the ceiling

     And dangle from a thread.

He can hide in shady places

     And scuttle at great speed

But can soon become invisible

     Whenever there’s a need.

He disappears in summer

     But in autumn comes again,

And, of course, he just wants shelter

From the cold winds and the rain.

I saw him run across my floor,

And what a speed he fled!

He’s heading up my staircase now.

“Oh HELP! – not in my bed!!”
