GOODBYE  AND  HELLO!

By Josie Whitehead

Goodbye And Hello

Goodbye, hello – it’s 12 o’clock

And can you hear a small ‘knock knock’?

It’s the new year knocking on your door.

Wake up!  Don’t fall asleep and snore.

You’ll surely hear the bells that ring.

The new year’s here.  What will it bring?

     Friends wish you happiness ahead.

The new year’s here, its wings outspread.

Goodbye goodbye to the old year

Which brought us sadness, also cheer.

It quickly moves from human sight

As fireworks now light up the night.

The church bells ring and people cheer.

It’s a special time within our year.

I hope each day will bring joy too -

And I send my love to each of you.
