GOODBYE YEAR SIX

By Josie Whitehead

Goodbye Year Six

It’s time for me to say goodbye –

     I’m moving on, you see.

I’m taking many friends of course

     Who’re moving on with me.

We’ll miss our time with all of you,

But for certain we must go.

We started in the baby class

But you’ve surely watched us grow.

It’s thanks from us to all of you

Who’ve helped us on our way:

The teachers who’ve been there for us

     At work and also play.

We’ve now outgrown this school you see

But more will take our place.

We’ll face September cautiously,

And the new we must embrace.

So, it’s time for us to leave you all

With joy and yet some fear,

And when the summer’s almost gone,

We’ll start our new school year.
