JOSIE'S POEMS

People Poems

(Grandparents)

By Josie Whitehead

GRANDPARENTS ARE . . .

By Josie Whitehead

Grandparents Are

Grandparents are . . .

Smiling faces, special treats.

Loving hugs and sometimes sweets;

    Wrinkled skins but young inside;

     Trusted friends who’re on your side.

They’re people who have time for me;

The ones who make the cakes for tea.

     They’re friends who mend our broken toys

     But sometimes say: 'Now much less noise.'

Despite the fact they have white hair,

Grandparents are ones who care.

     They’re people with the hearts of gold -

     The ones you love to hug and hold.
