Reference for Mrs Whitehead

​

Over the period of 4 years, Mrs Whitehead was a weekly visitor to All Saints' C of E School.  During these visits Mrs Whitehead used to hear the children read and also took time to share with the children some of her poetry.  The children, many of whom affectionately remember Mrs Whitehead's visits, treasured the poetry sessions and looked forward to them on a weekly basis.  Many of the children were inspired to have a go at writing their own poetry.  Mrs Whitehead also used some of the children's pictures and ideas to craft some poems.  You can imagine the children's joy at seeing their ideas taking the form of a well-crafted, finished poem.

Children in the older classes at All Saints' all seem to have a real love of poetry, displays of which regularly adorn our walls.  It is without doubt that this passion and love of the written word has been inspired by Mrs Whitehead's early input.

We all look forward to seeing Mrs Whitehead's poems in official print.
