Anapaests

Anapaests, like their name, have a musical beat
As they glide on the page on their two dancing feet.
Anapaests sing a song: diddy DUM diddy DUM
And now listen: they sound like the beat of a drum.

Anapaests waltz along through the words on your page
And they’re good for we poets, whatever our age.

An-a-PAESTS,  an-a-PAESTS!  What a clear rhythmic beat

As you tap to this metre's melodious feet.

Note:  (Metric feet in poetry):   A poetic foot is a basic repeated sequence of meter composed of two or more accented or unaccented syllables.  It puts poetry on a par with music and song.
