Please hold my hand, God,

                                     And lead me I pray.

                               It’s you who'll accompany me

                                   All through this day.

 

                               You're my carer, my comforter

                                    And also my friend

                               Who travels beside me

                                    From birth to my end.

 

                              When life brings its troubles

                                  That cause me alarm,

                              You'll surely support me

                                   And save me from harm.

 

                             As my travelling companion

                                  By night and by day -

                              ‘Hold my hand as I go, God,’  

                                   Are words that I’ll say.
