Prayer
Lord, you have forgiven us many times. Help us extend that same forgiveness to those who have hurt us and those we care about. Replace our anger with peace; our bitterness with compassion. Remind us that forgiveness is not weakness, not freedom. Teach us to love as you love us – with patience , compassion and understanding so we may create your kingdom on earth. Amen. ​​​God, help us to be a community of loving people. We pray you'll be the centre of and inspiration for all of our relationships, inside and outside the Church. Help us to live in the reality of your love and forgiveness today by forgiving others who have hurt us. Help us to forgive ourselves, too, as we know in our hearts the power of your forgiveness over us. Amen.
ALSO:
"Woman, why weepest thou? Whom seekest thou?" is a poignant question asked by Jesus to Mary Magdalene in John 20:15 on Easter morning. Mistaking him for the gardener, Mary expresses her grief over the missing body of Jesus. This moment symbolizes the shift from sorrowful, earthly, or mortal viewpoints to the joy and spiritual understanding of the resurrection.
This is a special poem I wrote in 2009 and it was one of 400 poems chosen by teachers and children in schools right across West Yorkshire for publishing in my book 'REFLECTIONS' published by AMS Educational Publishers - 2010. This book was one of five books published. Now it is also available for you freely on my very large website containing 1,500 plus poems which go out to 188 countries of the world.
