I’m not much good at cheating

    And here’s the reason why:

My face begins to go quite red

   And guilt shows in my eyes.

 

I’m not much good at cheating

   For it makes me feel quite bad.

The label 'cheat' to all I know

     Would make me feel so sad.

 

I’m not much good at cheating

    For my conscience bothers me:

The guilt keeps me awake at night

     And that’s not good you see.

 

I’m not much good at cheating

    For I hate to lose my friends -

To lose respect from those I love

    Would simply be the end.

 

I’m not much good at cheating

   For I know deep down inside,

That a liar and cheat’s not what I am.

     With shame I’d want to hide.

 

I’m not much good at cheating -

    Well, I haven’t really tried -

So I’ll work for things I value most

    And face the world with pride!
