Rock Climbing

WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH

By Josie Whitehead

When the Going Gets Tough

When the wind blows cold on your rugged track;

When the road’s uphill and you can’t turn back;

     When there seems no end to your uphill fight

     And the comforts of home seem far from sight -

When pain and endurance seem daily words

And peace and contentment take off like birds;

     When the soul within seeks a place to rest

     And a pain-free day is your daily quest -

Put your hand into God’s is what I advise.

He knows your problems and hears your cries.

     He’ll lead you through this world of storms

     To your haven of rest, secure and warm.
