THE DEATH SENTENCE

By Josie Whitehead

Death Sentence (The)

SENTENCED

Is he who lacks vision, drive and ambition

But prefers the imprisonment of tradition.

INCARCERATED

By bonds of monotonous life-draining labour

Yet unwilling to grasp any new opportunities.

KILLED

By lack of passion, uninspired thinking, apathy;

Unfulfilled dreams, melancholia, self destruction.

ENTOMBED FOREVER

Within the graveyard of the inward facing mind,

The constant complaining, yet unwillingness to change.

TALKING POINT:

So, what things do you think kills a person slowly in life, and what things stifle or thwart your physical, mental and emotional growth too?  What can you do to change this?  Are there places in the world where people are not

free to change things in their world?  Josie
