I KNOW JUST THE PLACE

By Josie Whitehead

I Know Just the Place

Said the blackbird to the robin:
'I’d love a worm for tea.
I know that you like wriggly worms,
So perhaps you can help me.'

'Yes,' replied the robin.
'I know just the place for you:
In Mrs Whitehead’s garden
You’ll find more than just a few.'

Said the ladybird to the blue tit:
'I’d love greenfly for my tea.
I know that you like greenfly
So perhaps you can help me.'

'Yes,' replied the blue tit.
'I know just the place for you:
In Mrs Whitehead’s garden
You’ll find more than just a few.'

Said the moorhen to the ducklings:
'I’d love bread and seeds for tea.
I know that you like these as well,
So perhaps you can help me.'

'Yes,' replied the ducklings:
'We know just the place for you:
In Mrs Whitehead’s garden
You’ll find more than just a few.'

Said a fat boy to his mother:

'I’d love some chocolate biscuits, a milkshake,  a scone with some jam, and lots and lots of creamy cakes for tea.  I know you like these things as well, so perhaps you can help me.'

So what do you think his mother said?

'No!' replied his mother:
'It’s NOT the place for you.

All those biscuits, chocolate and milkshakes?
      No! Not even a few!'

And his mother was quite right!
