IN FAIRYLAND

By Josie Whitehead

In Fairyland

The fairies work for many hours
In grassy fields, amongst sweet flowers.
They fly across the pastures green
And strive to serve their Fairy Queen.

They bring the sun to shady nooks,
Put babble into stony brooks
And give new life to woods and ponds
With magic spilling from their wands.

They paint each rose’s lovely face
And drop dew pearls on cobweb lace.
They surf upon the summer breeze
And smile down from above the trees.

Throughout the seasons of the year
They bring their laughter and their cheer.
Though seldom heard and rarely seen
They serve with love their Fairy Queen.
