Spiders Thank God Every Day .jpg

SPIDERS THANK GOD
EVERY DAY

By Josie Whitehead

It’s alone on the ceiling, high over the church,

That I spend my long, long lonely hours,

But one day of the week, when the humans troop in,

The church bells then ring from the tower.

On Sundays, the hymns and the organ is played,

And those humans come in to give praise - -

But, six days of work for a spider like me?

No, no!!  It is seven busy days.

I observe from above, all those faces below,

And I listen to humans who speak.

Whilst I, every day, thank dear God for my flies,

Those humans give thanks once a week!!
