JOSIE'S POEMS

Seasons and Weather Poems

By Josie Whitehead

SUMMER'S GONE
AND AUTUMN'S HERE

By Josie Whitehead

The apples, ripening on the trees,

Rock gently in the autumn breeze,

And autumn flowers dance to its tune

Within their beds where leaves lie strewn.

The days draw in, nights stretch their hours,

And petals fall from dying flowers.

From summer’s warmth to autumn’s cool,

The children now return to school.

Green summer leaves have hues of gold

And winds are turbulent and bold.

The swallows leave, for now it’s clear

That summer’s gone and autumn’s here.
