SWEET DANCER

By Josie Whitehead

Sweet Dancer

She’s so pretty when she dances,

     As she twirls around in style,

With her tawny eyes that twinkle

     And the dimples in her smile.

She sways gently to the music,

     With hair that shines like silk.

Her cheeks exude a healthy glow;

     Her skin’s as white as milk.

She passes by oblivious

     That I am standing there -

With carefree, rapturous motion,

     This sensuous lady fair.

Oh you most beguiling temptress!

     If you but only knew,

I’ll love you till my dying day;

     Sweet dancer, I love you.
