Wind Cannot Reach That Moon - Heading_ed

THE WIND CANNOT
REACH THAT FARAWAY MOON

By Josie Whitehead

The Wind Cannot Reach That Faraway Moon

The wind can sing songs to the birds in the trees

And can tickle the flowers with its whimsical breeze.

It can make the leaves dance to its whistling tune -

But, its fingers can't reach that faraway moon!

The wind can tease Granny as it tugs at her hat.

It can ruffle the fur on the back of the cat.

It can blow far away that big yellow balloon,

But, its fingers can't reach that faraway moon!

The wind can blow kites very high in the sky

And can hurry and scurry the clouds floating by.

It blows in the night and blows also at noon -

But, its fingers can't reach that faraway moon!
