Witches on Mars (The)

The witches on Mars are ugly and *bent,
Their evil on earth being utterly spent.
    The red planet devours them with relishing joy
    And, licking its lips, seeks more to enjoy.

On earth, they performed abominable deeds
But soon were dispatched with almighty speed.
     They loved hurting others, each kept a black cat
      And you’d recognize one in a tall pointed hat.

Their lives upon Mars are, for certain, not long.
They’re soon polished off as a penance for wrongs.
    There are no human beings, no dogs, no black cats;
    Just a red hungry planet, so that is just that!

The witches on Mars don’t have time to reflect
For it’s such a hot place - well I would suspect.
    I’ll not take up witchcraft and I’ll try to be good
    By writing for you!  Well, it’s best that I should!

* Bent: dishonest, corrupt, ie wicked
