THE CAT WHO GOT THE CREAM

By Josie Whitehead

Cat Who Got the Cream (The)

‘The cream I bought is missing!’

Said our mother with a sigh.

‘I left the jug here on the side,

     Beside my apple pie.’

The children looked quite worried

And their daddy shook his head:

‘The milk jug’s nearly empty, look,’

      Their worried mother said.

Someone was sitting on the floor:

    Someone with thick black fur.

Her bright green eyes were looking up:

Do you think it could be her?

Someone had cream upon her fur

And she didn’t seem to hear,

But the truth was Pussy stole the cream

And the truth was very clear.

                             Prrrrrrr
