The flames are dancing on an open fire;
Cards from friends for people to admire;
Yuletide songs of which we’ll never tire:
     Christmas day will be here soon.

Mince pies cooking in an oven hot;
A Christmas pudding simmers in the pot;
The turkey’s ordered – no I’ve not forgot:
      Christmas day will be here soon.

Time to say goodnight and go to bed;
A busy day to come not far ahead;
Friends and family waiting to be fed:
    Christmas day will be here soon.
