Have you ever considered a bear hug?

     Does the thought of it make you feel scared?

I’m sure that all bears are quite friendly

     And it’s we who are not quite prepared.

 

It’s a pity you think them ferocious,

     For I’m sure it is not how they feel.

They think it is YOU who’s unfriendly -

     And perhaps overlooked their appeal.

 

Have you ever considered a bear hug?

     No, not with your soft teddy bear -

With a grizzly or a soft cuddly black bear -

     The sort that could show you some care.

 

Give some thought to this subject this evening,

     And, with me, you will think it is true:

A bear hug might be what you’re missing -

     And those bears will be missing YOU too.
