MEET PERCY BACON

By Josie Whitehead

Meet Percy Bacon

How pleasant to meet Percy Bacon

Whose skin is as pink as a pig’s,

And, unless I am very mistaken,

His ears are a little bit big.

His squinty black eyes are so tiny,

Yet his vision is perfectly clear.

His snout (sorry nose) is quite shiny,

But his feet look decidedly queer.

Percy’s misunderstood by so many,

For he’s clever and rather sedate,

But *I’ll bet you a pound to a penny,

He’ll end up on somebody’s plate.
