AN OLD VIGILANTE

(Limerick)

By Josie Whitehead

Old Vigilante (An)

There once was an old vigilante

Who persisted in singing sea shanties,

But his singing was bad –

Well, it drove them all mad -

So his wife throttled him with her panties.

NOTE:  What is a vigilante?  Someone who is vigilante, ie on their guard - perhaps watching out for trouble, or perhaps watching out for someone.  I think, knowing that his wife was going to get him, he certainly was vigilante, but it seems that his vigilance didn't protect him.  All together:  Ahhhhhh!
