‘Pay attention!’ said Miss Brown,

      But no-one seemed to hear!

‘Pay attention!  Listen now!'

     Her voice was very clear.

 

But did the children hear her voice?

     They never heard a word

For through the window they’d all seen

     A truly magic bird.

 

It flew around the school playground

      And landed on a tree,

But, although the children saw it well,

      Their teacher couldn’t see.

 

‘Pay attention!’ called Miss Brown,

      But still nobody heard

For children, with their open minds,

     Could see this magic bird.

 

Miss Brown looked out towards the yard

      To see what they had seen,

But the magic bird had disappeared

     And was nowhere to be seen.

 

There’s magic in all children’s worlds -

     They see things adults miss –

And so Miss Brown would hardly see

      A magic bird like this!
