Stealing

I’d steal the sunshine’s welcome warmth

And the breeze’s tender touch -

But would you like some  monster's teeth?

Oh, no no no - - not much.

I’d steal the robin's cheerful song,

And perhaps some soft white snow -

But would you steal a monster’s roar?

Oh, no no no - and NO!

I’d steal the lovely autumn hues -

And the heather on the hill -

But steal a monster’s appetite?

Oh YES YES YES, I WILL!!!

Oh, NO NO NO, I won’t!!!

                           I'm not greedy!

PS:  DON'T steal my poems and claim they are your own.  That would be a terrible offence!!!  Also, don't take my poems and put them on your own website.  Write your own.  People would appreciate that much more and so would I.  Josie
