I saw you dancing noiselessly
   In the shadows of the dark.
I saw you dancing brightly
   In the moonbeams of the park.

I watched you dancing beautifully
  Beneath the trembling trees
With other tiny fairy folk
     Who waltzed upon the breeze.

​

I saw you dancing joyously
   Upon a rainbow’s beams,
Casting down your twinkling lights
     Upon those chattering streams.

​

I watched you dance bewitchingly,
   With lightness and with grace 
But you fairy-folk - not one of you,
    Ever once beheld my  face.

​

I watched you dancing gracefully
   Upon the bright sunbeams -
But I sometimes think that fairy folk
     Dance only in our dreams.

​
