YOUR PRIORITIES

By Josie Whitehead

What are your priorities -

     The important things to you?

Is it giving Mum a goodbye kiss

    Or something else you'll do?

Is it smiling to your special friend

     Or rushing out to play?

We'll all have our priorities

     In each and every day.

Your homework's a priority

As I'm sure you'll not forget,

And caring for your money, too!

It's bad to get in debt.

Your doggie's hoping for his walk -

     It's his priority for sure

And he hopes you'll not forget his meal

And he often begs for more.

Now, wakey wakey - that's your clock.

The  alarm says: 'Time to rise'

And he says this every morning

So for you it's no surprise.

Now your breakfast's your priority

      Before you leave for school.

Your teacher wants you there on time

     For surely that's the rule?

BIBLE:  1 of Mark's Gospel.  Jesus shows us his priorities.  He knows what he must do and demonstrates this by healing and proclaiming the good news.  However, Jesus also takes time out to get away from the crowds and be alone in prayer.  He knew what he had to  do to reach out to people and to stay true to his mission.
