LOOK OUTWARDS IN LIFE
By Josie Whitehead
Don’t judge the day by the harvest you reap,
But think of the seeds that you plant.
Don’t only think of things you can do,
But work on the things that you can't.
Don’t only think of the friends whom you have;
Reach out to the new whom you meet:
Kind words, friendly smiles or an offer of help
To the ones whom you meet in the street.
Think of the things you’ve achieved in the world
And build up in a positive way.
Make some new friends as you start this new week,
And take care that these good friends will stay.

The phrase "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant" is a quote attributed to Robert Louis Stevenson. It means that one should not only focus on immediate results or what is gained in a short period, but also on the actions taken and the potential for future benefit. It encourages a focus on effort, contribution, and the long-term impact of one's actions, rather than solely on immediate gratification.

I hope that my addition to his wise words will plant some further seeds in your mind. All too often people just focus on the people they know and love and yet our world is full of others who would love to have people to love and care for them. Josie
